05/28/2005: "Whew - What A Day!"

We got up so early.
Crazy MeiMei saw fit to bark at something at 5:00 am. Didn't matter, the
neighbour had just received her 10 cords of wood, so the BANG wasn't a surprise
when it happened.

8:30 am found us on our way to the Animatch Walk A Thon. (www.animatch.ca),
backpack full of Merlin's chowy cookies, bottles of water, blankies, rain gear
and mosquito repellent.
Let me tell you sometime.
The people who volonteer at Animatch are to be congratulated.
I have not ever been to such a well organized event like this ever.
This was my first experience at one of their events, and it won't be the last.
From the moment you arrive, the crew is well versed in handling everything.
There is NO guesswork about where to go, what to do, and where one should be.
We could all learn from these people. What terrific organizers they are.
I wish WE were as organized at our own polo tournaments are they are.
Congrats for a job well done! It was a perfect day, a big turnout, dogs dressed
in all kinds of clothes, and people from all walks of life, lots to see, lots to
do and experience AND a perfect weather day with plenty of sunshine!
MeiMei , (of course), once again made the local rag, so I'll send everyone a pic
when it comes out on the stands next Tuesday.
and of course.... Sherri got to meet Merlin. (I think they are in love)
Merlin was very , very dissappointed. His blind date, Tikah , (Sherri's female
chow), was a NO SHOW.
Merlin gets dumped by a chick once again...... oh poor Merlin.
hmmmmmmm I wonder if Tikah got a dose of the pre date butterflies!
Merlin is total toast now. He won't move his little legs for the next 2 weeks.
He's flopped on the floor snorring his huge head off. The other little devil
creature is still running around outside barking at "things" and digging holes.
PS: Next Satuday my 10 cords of wood arrives. So anyone interested, please
come and help me stack wood. It's a two day event!
PS: We'd like to thank roving photographer RINA for these lovely pictures.
Thanks Rina!

Use a tea ball if you have!
DO NOT BOIL the water! Simmer Only.... boiling changes the chemical properties of the herbs, so when making an infusion, it is important NOT to boil the water.
Simmer for 15 minutes, then let sit for 24 hours.
You can fill spray bottles and spray on affected areas.
I generally store in empty Evian bottles.
