"Why, Merlin, are we out in the rain looking for mapo weefs? I repeat... in the rain"!
Merlin:
" Because, my little spike-haired heathen..... it's Fall, the leaves are falling and we've got to pick them when they are freshly fallen... the colours will still be rich and lovely. Listen to the wonderful sound all these leaves make as we walk through them"
Merlin:
"We collect some really pretty ones and coat them in wax for our European friends. In other parts of the world my little snot-nosed underling, people don't understand how beautiful maple leaves are in the Fall, they certainly don't know about the "changing of colours", and can't understand it. This way, we can show them exactly how nice all the leaves look.... kinda like show-n-tell. It's an event, very special to us Northern chowlings you know."
Merlin:
"See MeiMei, how rich in colour these sugar maple leaves are?? Sugar maples only grow on this side of the world because of our climate. They don't grow anywhere else. These are the very same sugar maples that give us Maple Syrup... now I know, that you know, what Maple Syrup is!"
MeiMei:
"What's all this King Merlin stuff I'm hearing? You're no king... you're not my king... you can't be ?!?!?
I didn't make you a King and I'm the Queen, so you can't be a King anyways... and anyways... we only have one swooning sofa, and anyways you're not allowed upstairs, and anyways my tiara doesn't fit you, and anways everyone loves me not you, and anyways I have more friends, and anyways you're ugly.... MOMMMYYYYYYYY !!! ... Merlin's telling lies again - make him STOP"
hummmpf...... King... Schming..... if he's a king, I'm a monkey's pei.... I'm Queen here and that's NOT gonna change anytime soon.

You two Montrealer dogs are sooo adorable, and you serve a very beneficial purpose in your webpage work- a) you educate people all over the world about the total usefulness of blind dogs, b) you cheer me and my blind dog up considerably, c) you remind me of my second-favorite city of the world- Montreal.

We have some mapo weefs here in the mountains of Virgiinia too. More oaks and pines, but some maples (about 5%). It is still rather warm here, highs in the 70s each day, lows in the 40s. The leaves are only just now starting to turn colors. What is even more interesting is the 5-month-old puppies- their fur is just the right texture and grippiness that the fallen leaves cling to the puppies like velcro hooks on velcro loops. Until they come inside. Then magically the leaves are released to fall on the floor, providing me with even MORE cleaning opportunities.... :satisfied: :satisfied: :satisfied:
