07/20/2006: "POUTINE Pei!"
We had visitors from out of town this week .... all the way from Minnesota!
CAUTION: This is your pei on too much POUTINE!
What is Poutine?
Poutine is a local Quebecois dish of french fries served with a brown gravy and squeaky curd cheese.
The gravy is hot, and the cheese melts a little, resulting in a stringy, sanginous sauce of yellow/brown and fries. Some people love it, others hate it. You'll have to try it to see if YOU like poutine!
There are now variations of the poutiine too, like; "Italian poutine", "Florida poutine", "Cuban poutine"...
The meal is now found across Canada, in some US areas where Quebecers frequent. (Florida, etc).
What a great week we had. Anne from Minnesota came here to visit us. She got to meet all of us... Sassy, Me and King Merlin. We had such a wonderful time. Mom got to play tour guide and we got to do all kinds of wonderful, fun and silly things. There are so many things to see and do in Montreal, including things to eat.
Anne got a new pei while she was here. We call her new pei: POUTINE !
Like all visitors to our city, we try to introduce them to poutine. Sometimes that goes well, sometimes it doesn't (not everyone likes it)..... but DOGS love it!
Anne was in Quebec City today. She saw "Italian" poutine on the menu there. Anne thought it was made of noodles instead of french fries..... no way Anne... it means that on top of that *er hem* brown gravy, they dump spaghetti sauce!
Sassy was on her best behaviour and actually never bit Anne... not even once! Good girl Sassy!
Sassy is old and crazy and only has 3 teeth in her mouth. She gets away with downright murder sometimes just because she's a; "r e s c u e d o g".... for some reason that gives her special priviledges around here .... *humphf*
Even King Merlin was on his very best behaviour too even though he spent a lot of time in a total SNIT! His nose was totally out of joint because he had to take back seat to his morning routine. Just get over it King Merlin!
Anne also got to me alot of our friends too like, April May and Pebbles.
Just look at that silly April-May - I guess she wants to be a rock star
