12/25/2006: "Merry Christmas Everyone!"
music: Hurray... it's Christmas Today!
Well, when Santa leaves one of these under the tree, the message is clear; The Chow Gods are angry.
*hint* *hint* Merlin.....get that carcass over here!
We don't want to anger the Chow Gods. Especially on Christmas Day. We can't let that happen, now can we? Clearly, our first Christmas mission immediately following breakfast and walkies is to get Mr. Scruffy-Chow into shape for the holidays... I know... I know... it's a little on the late side. (Better late than never)
Armed with my combs, new brush and some Show Sheen to remove mats, I'll take on the "beast", and hopefully do him proud to the Chow Gods. (I use to remove the many accrued mats from MeiMei spittle)
What a morning. We were out last night celebrating Quebec Réveillon, (complete with ragout de pattes de cochon), at Norman The Butcher's house. A marvellous time was had and amazingly, we tipy-toed home at about 2:00 am. Unfortunately, everyone here still wakes us up at 6:00 am for morning toilet duties. The girls love to schnutzel when they wake up. They totally know how to destroy a bed, especially that Granny Pei... she really has a talent for that.
Granny Pei has this way of schmushing her head into the sheets to clean off any potential eye gookies. (Gee, thanks Granny Pei)
After a nice breakfast of Reveillon left-overs, we went out for a nice walk, then back home, we opened our gifts, (anything to put off that chow-grooming session).....
When it comes to "squeakies", well Merlin takes immediate ownership
Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! Merlin's not looking, so I guess I'll just walk off with this little squeaky here......
Ok... so we're out of time and excuses and get down to some serious grooming work on King Merlin.
TA - DA!!!!! Look at the King!!!! He's all nicey-wicey and lookin good struttin' his Chow stuff;
Now, let's top off that new coiff with some seasonal Christmas cheer, and here we go... we are all done!
Puuuuuuuuuuurfect! The world's most handsome he-man Chow. "lookin' good baby"..... now says King Merlin; "Ok I'm ready, bring on the "Chow-ettes"!
Of course we 've made all kinds of New Year's resolutions to brush and groom every 15 minutes next year!!
Now it's back to bed for Merlin's Mom, who is still trying to get over pneumonia, is on pills, pills and more pills.
Merry Christmas everyone.
