03/02/2007: "We're Out 'n About"

Mother Nature saw fit to bless us all with an amazing snow storm today. We had over 35 cms of powder, powder, powder.

Much to Pumpkin's chagrin, I'm an outdoors person, so ... do or die... out we go at least TWICE a day for a power walk... no matter what.

Pumpkin, a real California Girl, isn't impressed. With MeiMei recovering in bed from her injuries thrust upon her by "Thyroid-Lab", Cartouche, I decided this was a perfect time for Pumpkin and Merlin to get to know each other.









hmmmmmm..... seems odd, there's no one out here 'cept us!


We're now back inside, and Pumpkin is all curled by by the woodstove.

FYI - for those of you out of the loop. Pumpkin is a rescue who was pregnant and abandoned in California. We saw her on the web ,m and read her tragic story. We brought her ALL the way here to Montreal to offer her a good , permanent home. All of her puppies have found good homes now too! Pumpkin currently resides with my dear friend, Dawn-I-Poo... but as you can see, I'm desperately trying to change that.

King Merlin shows his regal nature by putting the safety of his subjects ahead of his personal distaste for non-respectful Pei-Liens... King Merlin realized that there were new food odors, thereby necessitating a food safety inspection. What a good King dear Merlin is! My young Ti Noir is learning that one very good technique for dealing with non-respectful Pekes and Shi-Tzus is to simply ignore them and their antics. Only when they calm down and show dignified respect does he acknowledge their existence. It is sooo funny to watch the Peke named Maxi try to "get up in Ti's face"... Ti just ignores the yaspping and snappsing and if necessary walks away from the site of the disrespect with the Peke still hanging onto a mouthful of Chow hair. Maxi gets soo embarrassed that he can't get a response out of Ti, that Maxi goes and hides for a few hours, then tries to be nice to Ti. Then Ti gently acknowledges Maxi's existence.

That is just hysterical! I loved the photos and story. I hope Miss Pumpkin Poo and King Merlin are fast friends now! :)
