11/08/2007: "Peanut's First Snow"
What a morning!
A lonely daisy try to make an appearance despite the snowy cold morning.
Yesterday it was p*ssing cold and rainy, today it's not so bad but snowing.
Today is Peanut's First Snow

It's snowing like the dickens this morning!
It's a big deal of course. Being a California girl, snow is only something Peanut's read about from her puppy mill cage way back when.... but to actually see, feel, smell, and touch it. Well! Now.. that' s quite something else.
Yesterday she was all bundled up in her snowsuit it was so cold, today, she's running free as a bird because it's balmy and snowing. Go figure!
MeiMei as always, looks for her squirrels no matter if it's snowing or raining.
Merlin is beside himself. He's been waiting for this very day since June. There's nothing nicer than scrubbing a chow coat in snow, snow, snow.
It's the greatest time of year for Merlin the Chow.
Merlin of course is always ready to be the ambassador of goodwill amongst shar-pei and I know takes pride in teaching Peanut, the 'ropes', about snow. (There's a lot to know about the stuff apparently)
Once a Prima Donna... always a Prima Donna.... MeiMei high tails it back to bed!

Peanut is looking fabulous! So are Mei Mei & Merlin, but thinking back to what PN looked like when she arrived. She has definitely found the best place on earth & family as her forever home!

We stepped into your site to ask for your help, without knowing who Merlin and Mei Mei are. Now we're so glad we did!

you'll read about the Blainville Wire Case. It's the heart-rending story about 97 wire fox terriers that were sorely abused in Montreal in 2005. You may have read about it in the press.
Many of the poor dogs died; but some survived and were taken in by foster parents who nurtured them and brought them back to health. Now the monster who perpetuated this awful treatment is up for sentencing and wants some of the dogs back. To prevent this, we are asking dog lovers everywhere, and particularly in Canada, to sign a petition and write a letter to the judge presiding over the case. You'll read all about it on our blog and on other blogs by Axel, Gus Dagger, Buster, and Agatha and Archie -- all your wire fox terrier friends on the DWB. But, of course, it's not just about terriers -- it's about all of us canines who can fall into the wrong hands.
