02/26/2008: "MUSH!!! MUSH!!!!"

The Great White North.
Winter becomes very long here if one doesn't partake in Winter hobbies.


What a great Sunday we just had. Dip came over for peitivities and brought along Freddy and Pumpkin.
Rachel brought over the most wonderous cupcakes and some kind of sugar cookie thing guaranteed to rot your teeth.
Boy everything was good. We all worked together to clip all of the pei nails including Merlin. (we armed ourselves, put him in a muzzle and got down to business). It was truly an ugly event, but we got the job done nonetheless!!!

After that, we hitched Pumpkin and Freddy up to the sleigh, plonked Peanut in her little spot on the sleigh and off we went into the far yonder. MAN... what a surprise we had with those TWO pei.... they pulled like crazy!! Wow.. did we have fun. we couldn't even keep up with them. The two of them were so strong we had to put a lead on them to hold them back. Ultimately Freddy thought it was SO much fun, he started playing instead of pulling, so we un-hitched Pumpkin and left him to pull on his own, and it's totally amazing... it's as if he was still pulling with Pumpkin. What a strong pei guy!!!! We all took turns on the sleigh and they just ran and ran and ran. and let me tell you, my little, stumpy legged Merlin kept up with them every step of the way!!!

It was really good to see at least Pumpkin all tuckered out. Freddy... well.... he wasn't even bothered one bit. It's as if he did nothing. I wish I had one tenth of his energy.

We had a great time with the exception that it was unbelievably windy today. We're hoping for a really nice day so that we can hitch them again, and go for a really long hike.

The snow is so high in my back yard that Pumpkin wasted no time jumping over the fence and taking off.!!! BAD PUMPKIN!!!!
